Secure up to 250 domains in one single certificate

Multi-Domain SSL (also known as SAN / UCC certificate) makes it possible to secure multiple FQDNs in a single certificate.

With TLS-SANs (Subject Alternate Names), Multi-Domain certificates provides a convenient option for organizations that want to secure multiple domains without having to manage multiple certificates. Unlike Wildcard certificates, Multi-Domain certificates can secure any list of external FQDNs. Furthermore, you can also include wildcard domains in a Multi-Domain certificate.

Unified Communications Certificates (UCC) are TLS / SSL certificates specifically designed for Microsoft Exchange and/or Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS) environments. These Multi-Domain certificates (also known as Exchange certificates) uses the Subject Alternate Name (SAN) field to secure the full set of addresses required to operate Microsoft e-mail servers.

  • Include wildcards as SANs

It is possible that alternative subject names in a Multi-Domain certificate includes wildcards. In other words, you could get a multi-domain certificate for cart.domain1.com, login.domain1.com, and payment.domain2.com, and also, if desired, also include *.domain3.com.

  • Official Microsoft UCC provider

Secorio's technology partner Sectigo is authorized Microsoft UC certificate provider.

  • Browser trustworthiness

Browser compatibility plays an important role in choosing an SSL provider. Secorio Certificates are compatible with all major browsers and therefore ensures that your website is trusted.

  • Reduction of effort and costs

Reduce the effort with a quick and easy integration of a single certificate on your server. By consolidating the individual certificates by means of additional FQDNs in multi-domain certificates, you not only reduce the effort but also your SSL certificate costs at the same time.

    • Official Microsoft UCC provider

Sectigo (Technology Partner of Secorio) is a recognized Microsoft UC Certificate Provider. Multi-domain certificates can be used to secure Microsoft Exchange and Lync.

    • Include wildcards as SANs

It is possible that alternate subject names in a multi-domain certificate include wildcards. In other words, you could get a multi-domain certificate for cart.domain1.com, login.domain1.com, and * .domain2.com.

    • Free Certificate Replacement

      FAQs about Multi-Domain SSL

Why should you choose Multi-Domain SSL?

Multi-Domain vs. Wildcard SSL: What's the difference?

A wildcard certificate can secure one domain and an unlimited number of associated sub-domains. A Multi-Domain SSL certificate protects up to 250 different domains, subdomains, and IP addresses with a single certificate.

What is a Multi-Domain Wildcard SSL Certificate?

Multi-Domain SSL ist ebenfalls bekannt unter den Bezeichnungen «SAN Zertifikat» oder «Zertifikat mit Subject Alternative Names».

A Multi-Domain wildcard certificate can act as both a wildcard and a Multi-Domain certificate. You can place an asterisk at the subdomain level, that you want to encrypt, in the SAN fields of the CSR. A multi-domain certificate enables multiple subdomains to be encrypted using one certificates on a single server. This way no additional IP addresses need to be set up for additional common names on the server.

With a Multi-Domain certificate it is possible to encrypt e.g. www.yourcompany.com, www.yourcompany.net, shop.company2.net etc. with a single certificate - given that the domains to be encrypted are all located on the same server. This way, up to 100 domains and all their subdomains can be encrypted with a single certificate.

What is the difference between UCC and Multi-Domain certificates?

UCCs were originally designed specifically for MS Exchange and Office Communications servers. Today you can also use other certificates on these servers.

What is a Unified Communications Certificate (UCC)?

If your organization uses an MS® Exchange 2007/2010 (Lync) or Office Communications Server 2007 environment, your certificate requirements can be cost-effectively covered by a single UC Certificate. You can encrypt all domains, such as mail.yourdomain.com, autodiscover.yourdomain.com, etc. with a single UCC.

The use of UCC offers the greatest possible benefit for both secure client-server and server-server connections. While a wildcard SSL covers only one domain and its subdomains, a UCC enables multiple domains to be encrypted up. The Subject Alternative Name (SAN) option allows you to add or remove domains at any time as needed. This option saves effort and costs while providing the best possible overview and control compared to single domain certificates.
